A Great Year for Sheep

Thursday, 27th August 2009

August is the prime time for sheep hunting and our clients are putting them down this year, probably our best year ever for Stone & Dall sheep in Canada's Yukon, BC, and NWT. However it all comes with some heartache this year - we lost our friend and client John Buhrle and his guide Jake Weibe when their helicopter crashed a few weeks ago in the NWT. It was a freak accident and they will be sorrowfully missed.

Well I am back in for two weeks to hunt at home - Saturday morning is the first day of our archery elk & deer seasons. I won't be out with my bow because I am still trying to get my son his first elk on that early muzzleloader tag! But with the bulls bugling they will be easier to find for sure now. I still plan to post a photo of Levi with his elk as soon as we punch that tag.

And on another note - look for a bunch of new TV shows on our website www.stevesoutdooradventures.com - the online episodes page is about to get 12 new programs uploaded in the next 7-10 days for your viewing pleasure!
