Welcome to this week's Status Update!
Although a little late it's finally here and we have some catching up to do.
Last week I visited Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. To the public Gamescom is a huge show where all the latest games are showcased in enourmous booths. However, there are also three special halls only for trade visitors which more or less only contains meeting rooms. More or less all companies in the gaming industry are there so it's a great place to arrange meetings.
One of the entrances, before opening to the public.
I had several good meetings, with our German partner Rondomedia in preparation of the retail launch in Germany, as well as with other both existing partners and new potential partners.
Besides the slight hiccup that I had no hotel room the first night due to an error on their behalf (which was actually solved by the hotel, they got me into another hotel pretty close by) the trip was very successful and shall lead to good things for theHunter in the end.
Bjorn has been at it again and created a set of ten new missions, this time for the moose. They're currently in testing and we plan to release them during next week.
Another thing coming up next week is an update to Doc's Outfitters - the store on the website where you buy weapons, scopes, equipment and so on. The visual style is revamped to make it more distinct, we've made everything clearer and visually more appealing and simplified the flow and look of what equipment can be used with what weapons.
It's now clear what ammo goes with the weapon, as well as what animals it is ethical for.
The new store will be released on live servers early next week.
Finally the last pieces are done for the retail launch in Germany. The box, manual and DVD has gone into production and everything will be available in stores the 16th of September. It's already available for pre-order at Amazon. ;).
Our client programmer Andres has a couple of days off and will be back next week. Next in line is the final implementation of the crossbow to be able to test it, this follows by applying TruRACS to the other species.
We will starting next week also be joined by a new programmer intern that will be with us until April next year and will provide nice addition to the programming team.
