As some of our fans may have noticed we have been quieter than usual over the past few weeks. This is partly due to the usual summer lull in games development, where many staff are away for their summer vacations, but also due to the details of future updates to The Hunter being thrashed out by important men in suits.
We do hope to be able tell you about some of those discussions being held, in the not too distant future, but in the meantime we can confirm that the next update will include the Ranking, Achievement and Tiered Competition System, announced in the last In Development Blog.
With the opportunity to win em$ in competitions there has been a concern that the laurels and the prizes would rest in the hands of a select corps of highly skilled and dedicated players. When the Achievement System is released it will mean that in any competition you should always be hunting with people of a comparable skill level. This will ensure that while the best may stay the best, people who love playing The Hunter will always have a shot of winning a prize regardless of whether they're a greenhorn or a veteran outdoorsman.
As always we would like to thank everyone for their questions, suggestions, feedback and support in both e-mails and the forums. They are appreciated and we do love to hear what you think so do please keep it coming.
A big thank you also goes out to those fans who take the time to help support The Hunter community, not just in the official forums but by creating their own. With The Hunter being played worldwide it's wonderful to see fans who don't feel comfortable posting in the official forums as English may not be their first language, still able to meet other virtual hunters to share ideas, tactics, advice or just stories of amazing trophies and near misses.
For our fanatical German Fans the recent alliance of Huntertalk.de & Swiss-Hunters is a welcome addition but not to be left out we would like to say Witajcie and Bem-vindo to our new Polish Fansite and everyone over at Brazil's theHunterbr.com
If you are putting together a fansite, fan wiki, movies, images, avatars or other work to help support The Hunter do please let us know.
Happy Hunting
TheHunter Team
