Community Update - An interview with Brummbaer

This week we're getting up close and personal with one of the EHR's top hunters, Brummbaer. A member of the well known Digital Trophy team, Brummbaer has the been the only hunter to have appeared on the Hall of Fame 3 times in The Hunter's short history.
Setting the pace for Range Records in Season 2 with stand out shots for both Elk and Turkey while grabbing the Season 4 Mule Deer record with a breath taking 247 6/8; add to this a fistful of competition trophies, 2526 harvested animals, over 1001 hours spent in country and you'll find one of the most consistently successful hunters currently stalking Whitehart Island.

- Hi. WoW, I'm a little bit Famous? This is a little too much for me.

- Not a problem. To get us started why not tell us a little about yourself?
- Brummbaer
- Okay, I'm male, 33 Years old, and I'm from Karlsruhe in Germany. I've been playing videogames for about 20 Years now and it's my favourite hobby by far.

- Do you have a favourite style of game?
- Brummbaer
- I have to admit that I mostly play FPS. I've been a fan of the style and played most of the big FPS games since Doom 1, but I have to admit this is my first hunting game.

- Do you hunt in real life?
- Brummbaer
- No

- How did you find out about The Hunter?
- Brummbaer
- I can remember it really clearly. It was back on the 8th of March. I saw a report about The Hunter on an online PC Games magazine with the headline "The Hunter - Graphics a la Crysis", this really grabbed my interests, so I installed it, played it, loved it, and for me a new drug was born.

- What's the secret of your success?
- Brummbaer
- Honestly? Perseverance, ambition and a lot of luck.

- Do you have a special or favourite hunting style?
- Brummbaer
- It varies, most time I sneak around the Island. I look, I call and sometimes I pray.

- Do you think that real hunting skill or gaming skills are more important?
- Brummbaer
- I would have to say if having a bit of both is a big help. As a pure player I have had to rethink my playstyle alot.

- What do you like about The Hunter?
- Brummbaer
- The key for me is the atmosphere. After a heavy day at work a walk and a hunt through the woods is a great way to relax.

- With all your success do you have a favourite competition or a trophy that means the most?
- Brummbaer
- Not yet, like I said being famous has definitely caught me by surprise but the best has to be being in the Hall of Fame.

- What do you think are the best qualities to have if someone wants to be a top hunter in the EHR?
- Brummbaer
- Think like an animal and have a lot of luck.

- What would you like to see added to The Hunter?

- A BRUMMBAER!! But seriously I actually have no concrete ideas. I've really enjoyed the game so far, and I'm looking forward to plenty more surprises.
